Step 1: Train from Bristol to Salisbury

Trains run from Bristol Temple Meads to Salisbury throughout the day, operated by Great Western Railway. Some services are direct; others require a change at Bath Spa. Bristol to Stonehenge via Salisbury: the best route

Some visitors consider driving from Bristol directly to the Stonehenge car park (around 1 hour 15 minutes). This is a reasonable option if you have a car, but parking at Stonehenge must be pre-booked at £18 per vehicle and can reach capacity early in summer. The train and shuttle route avoids parking entirely and drops you directly at the Visitor Centre entrance.
